Type59 will be removed from in-game store

WarGaming announced today that the premium tank Type59 will be removed from the in-game store starting with 16th of this month:
Commanders,

We will soon be updating the World of Tanks in-game store. As of January 16, 2012, the Type 59 premium tank will be removed from the in-game store after the server restart which will take place at 5:00-5:30 GMT. While the tank will not be available for purchase, all existing Type 59 owners will keep their tank intact.

This decision has been made to ensure a healthy gameplay balance at higher tiers, and also to encourage a wider variety of tier 8 medium tank usage. Should the T59 become available again through special events in future, we will make sure to announce such events ahead of time.

Greedy assholes, it was premeditated: 1st put an promotional video of Type59, then they release 0.7.1 patch that puts this tank in tier 10 battles and finally they decide to remove it altogether from the store.

guess we'll see the IS-6 premium heavy tank sooner than anticipated

WarGaming lied about exclusivity of pre-order tanks

The whole controversy started today immediately after the gift shop was released on the WoT EU portal. It's not the gift shop at question, but what it offers: it offers the ability to purchase/gift a few packages, some include pre-order tanks. Now, pre-order tanks were supposedly exclusive one time offer tanks available with initial pre-order packages.

Now, they're available to everyone ...

I don't own a pre-order tank, but I own a BETA tester tank, the M4A2E4 Sherman. I'd hate it if that tank will suddenly be not exclusive anymore. There's also the fact that WarGaming.Net lied trough their teeth.

Here's the forum topic discussion link.

Update: due to the flame raised by their action, WarGaming decided to remove the packages that included pre-order tanks from the gift shop.
Due to concerns raised by the community the purchase of packages that include the A-32, PzKpfw V-IV and M6A2E1 tanks have been removed from the Gift Shop for the moment. A final decision will be made in the near future as to whether they will be sold in the Gift Shop. Gift Packages that do not involve the Pre-Order Tanks are still available for purchase.

A very much "fuck you!" from WarGaming.Net

Today, in the evening, I opened the WoT EU portal hoping I could find some info related to the deployment of patch 0.7.1. But what I found was muck more like a slap in the face to every WoT player, a promotional video made by MMORPG.SU and published on EU portal under the title Type59: Tank Fu Fighter.

The whole video is like a voiced over italian kitchen knifes commercial, aimed solely at shoving this tank into gullible players faces. Also this video contains a bunch of lies, misleading the potential buyer:

  • "since Type59 is a tier 8 it's never thrown in battles of the tier 10 and very rarely in 9th" - I own a Type59 and I definitely say this tank gets into tier 9 and 10 battles
  • this video totally ignores the fact that with patch 0.7.1 Type59 will get a +1 point in matchmaking, thus making it a lot easier to find this tank in tier 9 and 10 battles
  • the commentator suggest that with Type59 the player is able to farm ~2mil Cr / day - well .. in one day, with standard account you can get somewhere near or over 1mil Cr, meaning that only with premium account will get 1.5mil to maybe 2mil Cr per day
  • there are more things wrong with this video, enumerating them all it's more like a chore I don't wanna do; just watch the video and learn for yourselves
I'm fully aware this video is not made by WarGaming.Net, but since the video is posted on one of their portals, suggests that this is fully endorsed by them.
Strangely enough, this video was not posted (so far) on the RU and NA portals.

There's no point denying WG is aimed to grab a lot of money from the players, using any means, and neglecting in process their loyal player base; but this video is absolutely saying Fuck You buy our tank to WoT community.

UPDATE: As of few minutes ago, the article was removed from the EU WoT portal following the negative rep the article took from many players.

UPDATE 2:  MMORPG.SU removed the video in question from their YouTube Channel, making it private.
